These Christian Hosoi-shaped Hammerhead surfboards are so good
Christian Hosoi's Hammerhead is one of the most iconic skateboard deck designs ever. When you think of 1980s skateboarding, Hosoi boosting a giant rocket air with a Hammerhead in his hand is one of the first images that comes to mind. Now the design is entering a new boardsport.
Southern California surf shop Univ partnered with Hosoi on limited edition run of Hammerhead surfboards. Hosoi shaped the 5'5", quad-fin boards himself and they are so awesome. Images of the boards popped up on social media a little while ago, but we're just now seeing how the boards perform in the surf. Pro surfers Benji Weatherly and Dylan Graves, took them out for a test ride and surfed the crap out of them.
Univ plans to release a few different sizes of the Hammerhead surfboards very soon. Count us in for one (or maybe three).

The boys jump in to answer those controversial questions about the paddle shifters on the 370Z and whether or not it’s an automatic, then it’s on to fans wondering about mounting blowoff valves on the intercooler, why Ryan doesn’t use a lightweight flywheel, what mods to make to an S13 with a swapped SR20DETT, how to convince a fan’s “mum” to intsall a twin turbo in her 2014 370z, and how to adjust caster and camber after installing suspension. Check in next Tuesday, 5/19 for Episode 5 of Drift Garage.
YouTube user OlegCricket may have just done the craziest parkour run ever caught on video. We're guessing it's somewhere in Dubai (because he's got a bunch of pictures from there on his Facebook). Regardless of where it is though, it's completely terrifying. Be careful not to lose your lunch when watching this.
You remember Jetman right? The insane jet suit-pioneering, flying-squirrel/human hybrid who blasts around the Dubai desert like the Rocketeer? Well, he's back, and this time he's brought his protege, Vince Reffet, along for an absolutely wild ride around the Palm Islands and infamous Burj Khalifa. The production values have never been higher and Yves Rossy's access to the Dubai skyline is almost unprecedented, so make sure take a deep breath, buckle up, and check this one out.
Want to watch a Nissan GTR face off against a Ducati 848 EVO on a winding mountain highway in Albania? Of course you do. It's insane. Just remember not to try this at home, however (assuming home is an Eastern European mansion with $75,000 high-performance toys sitting in the garage).
Last week on NKA Project Carlos Lastra gave you some crucial tips on how to darkslide. But if you really want to impress the homies at the skatepark, watch Carlos break-down how to nail handstand finger flips. Make sure you already know how to do a handstand on flat ground, otherwise you're playing yourself if you give this trick a shot.
Professional Formula Drift drivers Chris Forsberg and Ryan Tuerck are nearing the end of their builds, but there’s still work to be done on Drift Garage. After installing a load of radical mods on his 370Z, Forsberg takes it to the dyno for a tune up. Next in line are front and rear suspension upgrades for precision drifting performance. Meanwhile Tuerck gets under the hood and the body, tackling the transmission, clutch, radiator, and oil cooler replacing run-down parts with shiny new parts (parts, parts, parts!) on his S13 missile car.
So much progress guys, nice work! Hit Tuerck and Forsberg below with questions and comments on their builds and check back in next Tuesday for their response. Episode 5 of Drift Garage is coming the following Tuesday, May 19.
