Professional skier and BASE jumper Erik Roner could only think of one way to pay tribute to his fallen friend and mentor, professional freeskier Shane McConkey, and that was by riding Shane's snowmobile off an 800-foot cliff! After long-lining Shane's old snowmobile up the cliff face via helicopter, Erik lined up the right trajectory, fired up the 2-stroke and throttled the snowmobile straight over the sheer cliff riding it way down before deploying his chute and floating free of the destruction. Shot completely on the GoPro HERO3 for a surreal first person experience! Drop in!

This past winter, skier Jamie Pierre decided he wanted to be a world record holder. Rather than growing his fingernails out really long, he decided to attempt the record for the biggest cliff jump on skis. Pierre went to Grand Targhee, Wyoming, and jumped off a 255 foot cliff. He didn't exactly stick the landing. Instead, Pierre rotated backwards and ended up landing head first. He was still able to claim the record and amazingly Pierre skied away under his own power after friends dug him out of his landing hole.

Earlier this summer we brought you a Memorial Day edit from Cliff Life, and over July 4th weekend, the New England cliff-jump crew were back at it again, this time taking to Vermont's heaviest quarries and cliffs for another awesome showcase. The footage certainly doesn't disappoint, so check it out and then go send some of your own.

Cliff jumping is no joke. There are no safety nets. No bail outs. No cheats. Just ask Laso Schaller, who just broke the cliff-jump world record with this absolutely insane leap. As you'll see, while 193-foot height (taller than the Leaning Tower of Pisa) is certainly daunting, it's the postage stamp landing pool that offers up the highest sketch factor. Steady your stomach and get ready to take the plunge.
