Erik Roner

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to a dear friend and an incredible human being. Yesterday, Erik Roner died in a skydiving accident in Squaw Valley. He was a person who lived life to the fullest and took every challenge head on. We here at Network A had the good fortune of working with him on his own series, Roner Vision, for several epic seasons. Roner constantly came to the task with new ideas on how to go bigger and better every time the camera was on, all while doing it with a smile and having the most fun possible. He never let fear hold him back and he was a vital part of the ski, BASE jump, Nitro Circus, and skydiving worlds.

Roner was only 39-years-old and leaves behind a wife and two young children—our thoughts are with them in this extremely difficult time. We are so sorry for their loss and cannot express how saddened we are to say goodbye to someone as special as Roner. Please share your positive memories and condolences below, and let us remember and pay tribute to him. Rest in peace Erik Roner.

If you'd like to help Roner's wife and two children out, there's a donation fund set up here.

Roner rides a balloon-powered lawn chair a mile into the sky. You'll never guess what happens next.

Erik Roner is a professional skier, accomplished BASE jumper and wing suit pilot, and card-carrying member of the Nitro Circus; all of which is to say, you want to watch what he gets up to. Lucky for you, Roner delivers monthly episodes of "Roner Vision," in which he skis down mountains you won't believe, flies (like, literally, actually flies!), and helps the likes of Travis Pastrana and friends jump school buses and backflip big wheels -- all while training his young son Oskar to someday take over the family business.

In this episode of Roner Vision, Erik remains hobbled with a broken femur and amuses himself by visiting Disneyland and the Pain McShlonkey Classic. But Oskar refuses to be complacent, pulling together a mission to challenge Felix Baumgartner's Red Bull Stratos project and become the first man ... ok, first child ... to skydive from space.
