Megaramps are scary things. The first time you see one in person, even from afar, you're like, "Woah, that things scary." But then you see BMX rider Steve McCann strap a bunch of GoPro cameras to himself and take a run down the megaramp at X Games Munich, and you think it looks easy, until you realize you're not Steve McCann.

Bob Burnquist's "Dreamland" part had a laundry list of "never been done" tricks on his backyard MegaRamp. But all anyone could talk about was the helicopter craziness. Burnquist first got the idea of involving a helicopter after seeing Danny Way drop out of one in 1997. After doing his own version of a helicopter drop-in, Burnquist realized the possibilities were endless. That doesn't mean it was easy. Burnquist had to deal with all kinds of challenges to dial the helicopter tricks for "Dreamland."

New York City isn't known for creating vert skaters, but the Big Apple produced Elliot Sloan, who won Skateboard Big Air at X Games LA on Thursday. It was the first X Games gold medal for Sloan, whose winning run consisted of a tailgrab 720 over the gap of the MegaRamp and a tailgrab 540 on the quarterpipe. Sloan bested silver-medal winner Tom Schaar and Bob Burnquist, who won bronze. Burnquist was attempting to sweep the Skate Big Air event at all the Global X Games events in 2013, but his switch backside 180 over the gap to Indy 360 on the quarterpipe wasn't enough.
